house Foko, Bloemfontein

House Foko is situated in the Lilyvale Estate in Bloemfontein. The clients brief requested a contemporary styled house calling on cues from a variety of modern consumer articles.

The house is positioned on the site to capitalize on views to the North and West. This is achieved by fold away glass facades and large concrete overhangs to allow for protection from the summer sun.

The design concept is a play on solid and void creating a layered facade that allows some depth and visual access while maintaining a public private boundary.

The Ground floor is designed around an open plan living/dining room and also houses a double volume staircase lobby, home theater, gentlemen’s lounge, patio and swimming pool.

The First floor accommodation includes a main bedroom; two children’s bedrooms, a guest room all furnished with en-suite bathrooms and a private lounge that opens up onto a sundowner deck.

The house was completed in 2010.
